27 July, 1990:

Craig Neidorf's trial is *OVER*!! The government dropped the case Friday
morning. According to Sheldon Zenner, Craig's attorney, "The government's
decision was in line with the highest standards of good government and
ethical conduct." Zenner suggested that one reason the government might
have continued so long with the case is that they relied on BellSouth,
which may not have been sufficiently forthcoming about the value and
availability of the E911 files.

Zenner added that the use of e-mail networks and especially the efforts of
the EFF were invaluable in making the case visible and providing assistance
of various kinds.

More info coming in C-u-D 1.25 this weekend.
