Has anyone been able to read IDL Encapsulated Postscript files (EPS) into Powerpoint for the Mac or the new Powerpoint for PC Windows 3.0? I have imported the EPS file into Latex, with no problem, but haven't had any luck getting it into the Powerpoint. I found Mac Powerpoint could read EPS files generated by a Mac program (I think I verified it with Adobe Illustrator)with no problem. I used the Mac resource editor to change the IDL file type to EPSF (to match the file type that Adobe Illustrator had used). Powerpoint then recognizes the file as a EPS file but gets an error when it reads it in. I even got desperate enough to call Microsoft, but their support line didn't even know what Postscript was, so I didn't get very far. I recently tried to import an IDL - EPS file in the PC Windows version of Powerpoint, but you get an error like "file format is not one which can be imported". I had thought the Windows version might work since DOS files don't have resource forks like the Mac. I don't think the problem is with IDL since I have had problems trying to get other EPS files into Powerpoint. Anybody have any suggestions.
