A dump of our NTP peers follows. I'm wondering why I've stayed locked on to a particular system (whose name has been blanked out in case anyone is sensitive...). We've been locked on to this system for more than a day now, though there are two other servers at stratum 2 with lower delay and dispersion values (they're also a lot closer). Any clues to the xntpd internals appreciated; especially appreciated are descriptions of how to force xntpd to lock on to a closer server (i.e., is xntpdc -c unconfig PEER -c addpeer PEER the only way?). Thanks much! -- jad -- John Dilley Hewlett-Packard Colorado Networks Division UX-mail: jad@cnd.hp.com Phone: (303) 229-2787 remote local st poll reach delay offset disp ====================================================================== +AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA 15.2.114.85 3 1024 376 0.0475 -0.000395 0.0011 +BBBBBBBBBBBBBBB 15.2.106.85 3 1024 377 0.0571 -0.011878 0.0071 +CCCCCCCCCCCCCCC 15.2.114.85 2 1024 377 0.0624 -0.001333 0.0071 +DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD 15.2.114.85 2 1024 377 0.0531 -0.002701 0.0087 *EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 15.2.114.85 2 64 377 0.1695 -0.033659 0.0200 +FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF 15.2.114.85 2 1024 277 0.2209 0.014384 0.0840
