[For those of you who haven't heard about this, but might be interested.] The 22nd annual Precise Time and Time Interval (PTTI) Applications and Planning meeting will be held 4-6 Dec 1990 at the Sheraton Premier Hotel at Tyson's Corner, Vienna, Virginia. Sponsors: NIST, USNO, NASA, et al. Meeting theme: PTTI techniques in military, scientific and industrial applications; emaphsis on "practical employment of precise timing and time synchronization technology to enahance the efficiency & effectivness of communications, power distribution, geopositinging, space navigation, & earth science activities". Paper presentation categories: recent developments in rubidium, cesium, & hydrogen-based frequency standards, and in cryogenic & trapped-ion technology applications of PTTI technology to the telecommunications, power distribution, platform positioning, and geophysical survey industries applications of PTTI to evolving military communications & navigation systems dissemination of precise time & freuquency by means of GPS, GLONASS, MILSTAR, LORAN, and synchronous comm satellites international & transnational applications of PTTI technology, especially satellite laser tracking nets, GLONASS timing, intercomparision of national time scales and international telecommunications. Attendees are apparently being solicited primarily "by invitation", and undoubtably a number of people on this list have already received a meeting notice.
