Dan -- Replying to your query: The "comp.protocols.time.ntp" newsgroup (and an associated mailing list) deal with an Internet time synchronization protocol known as NTP (Net- work Time Protocol). NTP allows Internet hosts to keep their system clocks in sync with the "true" time by exchanging timestamped UDP packets with a group of Inter- net hosts which are running "radio clocks" tuned to standard time signal stations such as WWVB and CHU.
