[comp.protocols.time.ntp] Software for a Time Source clock?

kevin@uhunix1.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu (Kevin Y. Mayeshiro) (12/29/90)

Hello,

I have been assigned the task of setting up a Time Source(tm)
clock here at the University of Hawaii Computing Center. The
clock will be connected to either a SPARCstation 1 (Sun 4/60)
or a SPARCserver 490 (Sun 4/490). We will tune the clock to
WWVH on the island of Kauai. I was given a manual for the
Time Source clock, dated May 12, 1988, and an IBM sample
program diskette.

We are running ntp on some of our workstations and servers.
Currently, we are syncronizing our clocks with servers located
on the u.s. mainland.

A few questions:

 1) Is there software available for our Sun to syncronize its
clock with the Time Source clock? (Does the ntp software
    have this capability?)

 2) Are there any known problems in using the Time Source
    clock with Suns?

 3) Have there been major ehancements to the Time Source clock?
The manual was written for PROM 3.04.xxx and 3.05.xxx.

Please excuse me for asking simple questions, but I am new to
this newsgroup and associated software. Thanks in advance.

- Kevin
