[net.ham-radio] No Single Sideband on some Sony ICF 7600d

    My friend recently purchased a 7600d (2002) identical in every way
  to mine, EXCEPT that its 'normal-fine tune-ssb' 3-position switch has 
   only 2-POSITIONS. The SSB function is not there !!  The switch appears
  to be mechanically restricted to 2 positions, and does not say 'ssb'
  like mine does. This set appears (by its english-arabic handbook) to
  have been made for the arabs. 
       Why would the ssb function be left-out of their version??
       Is it there electrically if the mechanical restraint is removed??
  
    I would greatly appreciate help on this.
