Found in the December 1990 issue of SAIL Magazine: (reproduced without permission, and with some paraphrasing) Pronav, a new avionics company, has introduced a compact GPS receiver that runs on 12 volt power or aon AA batteries. The GPS-100 uses proprietary and unique single-channel circuitry the company says tracks up to eight channels simultaneously, but with signal-to-noise characteristics superior to conventional multiplex receivers and with quick acquistion and updating. It gives two and three dimensional fixes and stores up to 250 waypoints and 10 routes. Functions include closest point of approach, ground track and desired track, sunrise and sunset times, universal and local time, and manual automatic variation. It interfaces with NMEA 0180- and 0183- compatible electronics and with RS 232 compatible personal computers. It measures 6 1/4 by 2 by 4 inches, weights 1 1/2 pounds, and costs $2,495. Remote antenna $295. Pronav International 11206 Thompson Avenue Lenexa, KS 66219 913-599-1515 --------- Dear Santa, Please bring me a GPS-100 for Christmas... -Doug-
