I've been asked about NTP vs. DTS. While I know lots about the former, I'm relatively ignorant about the latter, except for occasional brief references on this mailing list. How do they compare?

smb, The short answer is there is no short answer. The long answer is NTP Version 3. See the discussion in the introduction to the v3 spec pub/ntp/ntpv3.ps.Z on louie.udel.edu. A technical discussion, emphasis informal and not quotable, can be found in pub/ntp/dts.txt on the same host. Nontechnical readers will probably find that discussion incomprehensible. Dave
