[comp.protocols.time.ntp] ntp 3.4 weirdness

dupuy@cs.columbia.edu (Alexander Dupuy) (03/22/91)

I just noticed this today on our VAX, which has two ethernet interfaces:

$ ntpdc columbia
   (rem) Address (lcl) Strat Poll Reach Delay Offset Disp

+umd1.umd.edu     128.59.32.1       1 1024  fb     282.0    -12.0     36.0

 cs.columbia.edu  128.59.32.1       2 1024  ff      38.0    -23.0     21.0

Note that it has two sessions with cs.columbia.edu (128.59.16.20) - one from
each of columbia's local interfaces. The routing tables on the VAX seem
relatively normal:

% netstat -rn
