[comp.protocols.time.ntp] status of xntp on ibm rs/6000?

rds95@leah.albany.edu (Robert Seals) (04/30/91)

Hi all,
Last I heard, people that wanted to run ntp on s/6000
needed a kernel patch from ibm. Does anybody know if
that is still necessary with the current (3003/5)
release of AIX? Any other information about getting
the thing built would be appreciated.

I have no idea what the uucp path to me is.

That kernel fix is included from 3003 on.

I believe that the latest release of AIX has the adjtime bug fixed.
You can get an AIX-ed version of xntp from pub/xntp on merit.edu,
along with a little test program that will tell you whether your
kernel is broken or not.
