To all those who would like to be able to 'lock up' their equipment there are two neat circuits, both of which can be built in the space of a nine volt battery (less keyboard) using mostly spare parts (all mine were found in the spare parts bucket.) in the spring 1985 edition of C&E hobby handbooks, 101 electronic projects one circuit uses time limited and gates then a s.c.r. to trigger a relay, and the other uses 2n3906 transistors to trigger a few s.c.r.'s (one for each digit in the combo). they are worthwile projects, and if you want to stop others from turning on your stero, kilowatt linear, home computer, or whatever, then these locks are ideally suited to your needs. I use mine to stop my room mate from using my computer! (he is a little upset right now.) regards, Andrew Rahme.
