I have xntpd set up on mthvax.cs.miami.edu and paris.cs.miami.edu, two servers within our dept. Both peered with umigw.miami.edu, ncarfuzz.ucar.edu, and each other. Until ncarfuzz.ucar.edu died, there were no problems whatsoever -- they peered with each other, ncarfuzz, and umigw. Ever since ncarfuzz died, however, they refuse to recognize umigw at all, or any other local system running ntpd. They do continue to peer to each other, but that's not much help without a reliable source. Here's the configuration of mthvax: # ntp.conf for mthvax.cs.miami.edu # peer 129.171.97.50 # oj.rsmas.miami.edu peer 129.171.97.1 # umigw.rsmas.miami.edu peer 192.43.244.9 # ncarfuzz.ucar.edu peer 129.171.32.9 # paris.cs.miami.edu driftfile /etc/ntp.drift broadcast 192.31.89.3 monitor no # or no. Default is no Any ideas? aem -- aem@mthvax.cs.miami.edu .......................................................
