[net.ham-radio] Users in the 45-60Mhz

TAKAHASHI@SRI-KL.ARPA (03/29/85)

I would like to know if anyone on the net has information, or can
steer me to information regarding users in the 45-60Mhz band. In particular,
I'd like info. on the frequency of operation and power levels.
Thanks in advance,

For some reason, I	am unable to	reply to you	suc-
cessfully	via electronic mail,	so I'm	posting	this
     response.

There are thousands of users in the 45 - 60 MHz range,
including	an experimental contract station for SRI
International to operate on 49.84 MHz, USA-wide.

Businesses	and state and local governments have	fre-
     quencies in this range.

You already know the 6 meter US ham band is 50 - 54
MHz. Channel 2	TV is	in the 54 - 60 MHz range.
Cordless phones (see attachment) operate in this range
     also.

There are US govt stations	in the 46 - 60 MHz range
also (e.g.	US Navy	at Scott AFB).

The	FCC has	released 10 new frequency pairs for	cordless
phones. The base /	handset	frequencies (MHz) are:

	    Ch base handset

	     1 46.61 / 49.67
	     2 46.63 / 49.845
	     3 46.67 / 49.86
	     4 46.71 / 49.77
	     5 46.73 / 49.875
	     6 46.77 / 49.83
	     7 46.83 / 49.89
	     8 46.87 / 49.93
	     9 46.93 / 49.99
	    10 46.97 / 49.97

This interim ruling	will be	in effect for 5 years. Future
allocations will likely be	made in	other parts of the spec-
	    trum.

Cobra cordless phones use these and	other frequencies:

	       Ch Handset Base

	     1A	or 1 49.83 1.69
	     7A	or 2 49.845 1.71
	    13A	or 3 49.86 1.73
	    19A	or 4 49.875 1.75
	    25A	or 5 49.89 1.77

Grove Enterprises (Brasstown NC) sells FCC records on
	microfiche. That's your best source.
