Can anyone tell me you know of a clone that can run IBM's OS/2 1.2? I know that we are slowly starting to see OEM versions of 1.2 running on non-blue boxes, but I am specifically interested in knowing if IBM's version of OS/2 1.2 can run on some clone... We are running OS/2 1.2 with LAN Manager 2.0 on a Gateway 2000 25mhz with 8MB memory. Although OS/2 1.1 works fine, when we boot OS/2 1.2 with LM 2.0 the unit hangs unless we drop the processor to 20mhz. I believe the problem lies in the IBM Token Ring card (3Com cards too) can't handle the higher speed bus on the Gateway 2000. My guess is that with the new OS&LM the bus get used more efficiently or more heavily. -- ************************************************* * Brian Jay Gould - Professional Brain-stormer * *************************************************

And who is the source of your LAN Manager 2.0? IBM's version of the LAN Manager 2.0 is called LAN Server 1.2 and requires OS/2 1.2 EE. Wolfgang Strobl

I've run IBM's OS/2 on a Tandy 3000HD (286) and am currently running IBM OS/2 v 1.2 on an ALR SX386Z. It works well. -- Phone: (work) 219-482-9631; MCI mail: DFEUSTEL E-mail: feustel@well.sf.ca.us {ucbvax, apple, hplabs, pacbell}!well!feustel USMAIL: Dave Feustel, 1930 Curdes Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805-2710

I am running IBM's os/2 EE on an HP vectra QS/20. I have been running this configuration since early April without any problems. I have run OS/2 LAN Server 1.2 on an HP vectra RS/20 as well. Mike Almond malmo@hpbsrl.boi.hp.com
