I have a question for the gurus up at Microsoft (Letwin?). If one was to create a callgate entry point in the fast-path of a protocol stack, say the Netbios driver's entry point, what kind of throughput increase, if any, could we see? I have no idea what the kernel may be doing during a DevIOCtl call, save fuct. and cat. demuxing and ring transition. Inquiring minds want to know. Brad Baker bbaker@novell.com
