[comp.os.os2.misc] Compatibility of OS/2 V1.3

Conrad_Bullock@cavebbs.gen.nz (Conrad Bullock) (01/09/91)

If anyone is actually running OS/2 V1.3, can you answer a couple of
questions for me:

1) Do video drivers from V1.2 work under 1.3?
2) Does the Novell OS/2 requester for V1.2 work under 1.3?
3) Does the new version include palette management APIs?
4) Does it have the same Desktop Manager/Control Panel, or have these
been changed to look more like Windows 3?

Thank you.

 Yes.. quite well
2) Does the Novell OS/2 requester for V1.2 work under 1.3?
 Don't know
3) Does the new version include palette management APIs?
 I don't do OS/2 1.3 programming so I don't know

 The same as 1.2

It's worth it. It's a little smaller, it runs apps a bit faster,
and just feels crisper. Take advantage of the free upgrade of 1.2
to 1.3.

I can tell you that Novell OS/2 requester works, you do get a warning
but it works.
Looks like 1.2, however, we just got the 1.3 update and they changed
the printer Queue Management.
