It is a low trick to use "READ ME" as a title for an article *ordering* (even humorously) people to hire students for summer jobs. It is also inappropriate to use net.general for job requests: there is a newsgroup, "net.jobs" that is far better suited for that sort of thing. Let's leave net.general, and especially titles like "READ ME," for messages of such weight that they must be seen by every user of the net for some reason of more *general* importance. Actually, I was not offended by the "READ ME" subject header. I was not affronted, nor morally abashed, nor did I experience righteous indignation nor any of a host of emotions apparently evoked by what I consider(ed) a rather clever idea. It took me all of 30 seconds to read the blasted article, and although my life is perhaps not spiritually enriched thereby, I don't begrudge them their effort. Who knows? maybe someone will give them a job because of that... the job others were too \timid/ to get!! not afraid to not be afraid to be afraid to not use science-fiction-oriented-fear-dispersing apocryphal quotes or other things relating to my national origin shoe size byte count real name or my mother -=- dr. death -=- death!yale-comix

Even at 300 bits per second I wasn't offended or significantly inconvenienced. Good Luck!
