My original question wasn't as clear to some as it was to me...so I'll restate along with my reasoning. "Are there any problems (and what are they?) associated with running OS/2 EE on non-IBM (as opposed to MCA) machines?" I ask this because I have been told by several (unreliable) sources that I must order OS/2 from the manufacturer of the machine (Zenith 386/25) I'm using. Also, some reading between the lines of the current issue (January 29, 1991) of PC Magazine scares me: William F. Zachman (p. 95-96) "OS/2 for IBM meant its OS/2 Extended Edition running on IBM PS/2s with IBM's Micro Channel." "The agreements also marked a virtual abondonment, by IBM, of the 1987 effort to gain proprietary advantage from OS/2. That was shown, too, by IBM's renewed commitment to make OS/2 Extended Edition capabilities available for non-IBM systems. IBM's more open position regarding MCA licensing, including future versions, is further evidence of that." Anyone else read that like I do? Thanks! --kyler
