[comp.os.os2.misc] STARTUP.CMD and EE V 1.3

BR.JWF@forsythe.stanford.edu (Jay Field) (02/15/91)

I have just upgraded to EE V 1.3, from 1.2. Overall the
install seemed to go smoothly, though I had to re-bind
my application to the new database (even though the install
knew enough to leave my database(s) alone.)

For some reason I have yet to understand, my system does not
run STARTUP.CMD when it boots. If I open a window and tell
it run it, it works fine. I opened the file up and it is
identical to what it was before upgrading. I don't see anything
in the 1.3 documentation that would indicate that it should
not run as usual.

Any ideas?

So far, after one afternoon's playing with it, things don't look
a whole heck of a lot different. I was hoping that the base system
would use less memory, but it doesn't seem like it does. Running
the METZ freemem I get the same count of available memory as I did
before upgrading. The File Manager does come up slightly faster,
but I don't think it will win too many races. Also, I haven't
found anything (of mine or off the net, etc...) that doesn't still
run - so perhaps I should be happy with that!

Thanks,
