[comp.os.os2.misc] Can a DOS workstation share COM1: on LAN Man?

lairdkb@mentor.cc.purdue.edu (Kyler Laird) (03/29/91)

For several reasons, I would be grateful to find a solution which would allow
me to use a (cheap) XT/AT running DOS to share a COM: port with OS/2 users on
an MS LAN Manager 2.0 LAN.

I am interested in anything remotely close to this, but would prefer to be able
to run something else in the foreground or be able to switch in/out of COM:
sharing. The other process would not need much CPU time while COM: port is
being driven.

The device on the COM: port is a modem which will only be driven at 9600 baud
(could drop to 4800).

Thanks!
