[comp.os.os2.misc] Problems running program in OS/2 1.3

wbonner@eecs.wsu.edu (Wim Bonner) (04/02/91)

I have been having problems running a program I'm writing.

When I try to run the program, often I get a SYS2070 (When I try to start it
in CVP). Sys2070 says that the applications segment could not be loaded.

This usually happens before I have even gotten into the code in cvp.
(before I have seen CVP make it to the screen) and so makes it really
hard to know where the problem could be.

I have played with the def file, making all of the code nonsharable, and all of
the data non-sharable, before I was making the code sharable, but that doesn't
seem to make any difference.

Sometimes I can load the program, and sometimes, without re-compiling at all,
I get this problem.

Often times when I would get this problem, I could run the program from the
icon (on the desktop group I have up) and it woud simply give me a hardware
trap, requiring a power down.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

Wim.
