Sorry about my poor explanation about using a mouse with Windows. Try number two! Step 1: Set the Mouse Driver in OS/2 in CONFIG.SYS to your particular mouse. Microsoft Mouse, PC Mouse, etc... You must use the standard mouse driver that comes with OS/2. I presume that you already know how to do this, so if the mouse works fine in OS/2, go to step #2 Step 2: Click on the DOS Compatibility Box and fire up Windows. Do NOT load MOUSE.COM or any other additional mouse driver. If any messages appear about changing interrupts, tell OS/2 to keep on running the program, don't stop Windows. If everything is fine and Windows loads, click on Setup and change the mouse to 'Microsoft Mouse'. Windows might ask you to insert one of the Windows Disks when you do this.... Then exit from Windows... Step 3: Now, here's the litmus test. Turn OFF your computer and then turn it back on (no CTRL-ALT-DEL or warm reboots)--Windows probably loaded it's own mouse driver which will stay in memory even during a warm-boot and royally screw things up... First see if the mouse works fine in OS/2 (there should be no problem there) Next, click on the Compatibility Box and load Windows (if everything was done correctly, there should be no more 'changing interrupt' warnings) Now the mouse should work fine...ENJOY WINDOWS WITH A MOUSE! If anyone has any other additional questions, I'd be happy to answer them (hopefully these instructions are a bit easier to understand). Preferably through mail, unless there are a bunch, then I'll post... Hoped that helped even more :-) Mike Kretzer tanith@csd4.csd.uwm.edu
