[comp.os.os2.misc] PC/TCP for OS/2

cja@castle.ed.ac.uk (C Adie) (04/15/91)

The new release (1.1) of FTP's PC/TCP for OS/2 looks very interesting.
It has support for NFS.

I haven't yet seen the data sheets - does anyone know :-

  * Which versions of OS/2 does it work with?
      -1.0 ?
      -1.1 ?
      -1.2 ?
      -1.21 ?
      -1.3 ?
      -2.0 ? :-)

  * Does it co-exist with LAN Manager? In particular, does the NFS
support coexist with the LAN Manager redirector, so that you
could have one drive connected to a Unix machine, and another
connected to a LAN Manager server?

		Not sure...but I doubt it.

Chris> -1.1 ?

Yes, with a modified DLL which we supply (uses
		DosFindFirst, not DosFindFirst2).

Chris> -1.2 ?

		Yes.

Chris> -1.21 ?

		Yes.

Chris> -1.3 ?

		Yes (I think).

Chris> -2.0 ? :-)

Yes -- no smiley, it really works.

Yes.

I hope this is of general interest.

Does the new version of FTP's PC/TCP support

  a) Coexistence with a Novell network on an Ethernet?
  b) Remapping the PF keys in the tn3270 equivalent?
  c) Full Extended Data Stream support in the tn3270 equivalent?
  d) the ability to define mouse clicks as something?
