Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I was just wondering:
Since I read (maybe in byte, I dunno) that IBM had asked for acceptance
of the XGA by VESA, will there be VESA video drivers available for OS/2?
Secondly:
I have a Mylex 80486/25 EISA machine. It is the most compatible machine
I have used to-date, (i.e. very few three finger salutes, etc). Will I have
a difficult time getting OS/2 to run on this machine? Having an EISA machine
puts me right "smack dab" on the other side of the world from the IBM camp.
I am curious because I am planning on buying a VESA compatible 1024x768x256
video card for my machine, and I want to be able to use it with OS/2 2.0
when it is available. Will this be possible, or will I have to wait for
drivers to be written? Since it is a VESA card, It seems that there would
be a generic driver available.
If enough response is generated (by may 13, That is the day my acct is
terminated :-( ) i'll post a summary.
Thanx all!
