I'm considering buying a CD-ROM system for my computer. What do I need to do to make it work under OS/2. I looked but could not find any drivers in the base OS. Do I need device drivers (I expect so)? How do I get device drivers? Can I get drivers that work on non-IBM brand equipment (I can't afford IBM brand)? I only know that the drive I might buy is "standard" CD-ROM with a "standard" interface card. I appreciate any help (however small) anyone can provide. Thank you. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ David T. Chappell -- david@catt.ncsu.edu North Carolina State University -- Computer And Technologies Theme Program -----------------------------------

To the best of my knowledge there are currently no CDROM (AKA SCSI) drivers for OS/2 except for Adaptek, and theirs doesn't work at all with OS/2 1.2 or 1.3 or 2.0. The simplest solution is to use the CDROM with DOS 3.3, on a different machine if you want access while you're running OS/2. -- David Feustel, 1930 Curdes Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805, (219) 482-9631 EMAIL: netcom.com
