[comp.os.os2.misc] OS/2 uses expanded memory?

G22QC@CUNYVM.BITNET (05/07/91)

I am planning to use OS/2, but I have to upgrade my 1 meg RAM to
4 meg RAM. It is kind of expensive for me. So I want to ask
if OS/2 would use expanded memory? I want to use expanded memory
instead of extanded memory because I don't have to spend too
much memory. The expanded memory that I am talking about is the
one that uses hard disk space. Thanks in advance.

Eddie,

OS/2 will only use extended memory. The Expanded memory that is on your
disk is created by a device driver that will not run under OS/2. 4MB is
not really necessary for 1.3, but it sure is nice.

Good Luck,
