[net.followup] Stop fruitless talk on the Bible

dyl (01/27/83)

The word of God shows clearly why people think that the Bible is sexist.

James 1:13-15
When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God
cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each
one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away
and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth
to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Give up attacking the Bible.

1 Corinthians 1:25
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the
weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

Let only positive things come onto netnews so we can all learn.
Degrading the Bible is meaningless as nobody learns anything from
fruitless talk.

In other words, ''If you don't like the Bible, keep your mouth
shut''?? Are you applying this to all things you believe in
as well? Do people not have the right to express their dis-
beliefs? You definitely have the right to believe in and learn
from the Bible, but others have an equal right to not believe
in the Bible and also convey THEIR feelings! It's not a one
way street.
