[comp.os.os2.misc] IBM and usenet support

green@vis.toronto.edu (Anthony Thomas Green) (06/19/91)

I just thought I should publicly express my gratitude to Larry Salomon
and the other IBMers who are answering questions about OS/2 over usenet
and through private email. I had a couple of pretty tough questions
and got some pronto answers from him, and other IBMers "in the know".
This was not what I was expecting from IBM.

This should also be a tribute to email - which brings down barriers
and squashes bureaucratic hierarchies. There's no way I would have
received the level of support I did over the phone. Perhaps IBM
should make the usenet gateway available to all VNET users.

IBM: Treat Larry and the other posters well. They are changing people's
impressions of IBM ("At last! A *real person* with answers!").

DISCLAIMER: I have never worked for IBM and probably never will.

I couldn't agree more. Kudos to Larry and all other IBMers who spend
time here helping us with the "nuances" of OS/2.

I don't even belive that Larry is "obnoxious", in spite of his .sig
file!
