[misc.jobs.contract] Wanted: Mac C programmer for few days of programming?

taylor@limbo.Intuitive.Com (Dave Taylor) (07/02/90)

I've tried for quite a while now without success, and so would like to
invite people that are experienced Macintosh programmers to aid in the
continued development of a computer-based training product by helping
us finish up a particularly tricky task:

  We want to be able to pop up a text window, resizable, scrollable,
  etc, that allows input and output of arbitrary text, and, more to
  the point, allows cursor based addressing from the program.

  That is, we want to have code for a window that can handle the
  following types of system calls:

	MoveTo(row, column)
	ClearToEndOfLine()
	ClearToEndOfScreen()
	ClearScreen()

  as well as

	ReadChar()
	WriteChar()

  It should by default start out as 25 lines x 80 columns, and if the
  user resizes it, the actual screen should stay the same, even if their
  view of it increases or decreases (or, alternatively, if they resize
  it to be longer or wider, MoveTo(row,column) should be able to handle
  that; it can be your call)

The rest of the nuts and bolts, including refreshing for overlays and
such we can deal with ourselves. Getting it to work within a TextEdit
window is worth many bonus points from our point of view too, so if
you can envision it working either way, TE is preferred...

Sound interesting? Sound easy? If you think you can accomplish this,
drop me a note with some ideas and a bid for how much it would cost us
to hire you to actually produce the (Think) C routines needed. One
final note; most of our Mac interface is done with the Programmer's
Extender from Invention Software, so if you can keep compatible with
their code, it'd be wonderful!

			Hoping to hear from some of you,
