qst de k9eui hr dx bulletin nr 19 from arrl headquarters newington ct may 17 1985 to all radio amateurs bt special prefix, sweden. the swedish amateur radio association is celebrating its 60th anniversary during may with the use of the special prefix 7s, in place of the normal sv prefix. work all eight swedish districts and receive an award from the ssa. qsl cards are not necessary. special prefix, australia. to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the wireless institute of australia, australian amateurs may use the prefix vi through the end of the year. a special station, vk75a, will also be active. jordan. kevin, jy9wr, is currently very active on 20, 40 and 80 meter cw around his sunrise. qsl to g4ats. kevin plans 160 meter operation later this month. crete. frank, dl7ft, is visiting crete and signing dl7ft/sv9. his operation will be ssb only, on 80 through 10 meters. qsl to his callbook address, in the 1985 callbook only. also, hal, w0pu/sv9, is using his new callsign, sv0dv/9, and plans to erect a new antenna for the low bands at his new qth. qsl to wb4tdh. guernsey. a group of belgian hams is visiting guernsey, signing gu0 followed by their home callsigns. the group has been reported on 160 through 15 meters in north america. qsl all calls to on7jf. antigua. a group from the north jersey dx association is on their annual outing to the caribbean, this time signing v2a on cw and w2jt/v2a on ssb. operation is from two separate sites. qsl to the w2 qsl bureau. cocos island qsls. wb4ubd is qsl manager for the february 1985 ti9tty dxpedition only. ti9j qsls go via ti2j. franz josef land. val, uw3hy/1 reports that ua1ot has left the island and returned to the mainland. uw3hy plans to remain on fjl until at least the end of the summer. he reports there is no word on replacement operators. also active from fjl is the club station, rz1owa. please note that rz1owb is not located in franz josed land. israel. watch for special event station 4x85wse on 20 and 15 meter cw. wpx contest. dont forget the cq wpx cw contest on may 25 and 26. several stations are already using special prefixes in anticipation of that weekend. propagation. 10 and 15 meter propagation has been sporadically good over the last several days. north american stations report having worked western europe as late as 0200z on 15 meters. as the summer progresses, conditions may continue to improve. china. by1pk was reported very active in last weekends cqm russian contest, handing out numbers over 700. in the u.s., this station was copied from 1130 to almost 1700z over the north pole. djibouti. dany, j28ei, has been active on 40, 80 and 160 meter cw only. watch for him at his sunrisa peak, around 0230z, on 1836 khz. qsl to fc1jen or direct to box 2417, djibouti. rhodes. although he does not sign /sv5, sv0ah is located at the voice of america in rhodes. watch for him around 2100 to 0230z on 40 meter cw ar
