[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] JOVE for the IBM PC?

byron@QAL.berkeley.edu (Byron Go) (07/23/90)

Well, next question...

Is there a version of JOVE for the PC? I know MacJOVE exists for the
Macintosh, and having recently bought a PC, I was wondering if there is a
PCJove, since I find MicroEMACS, which I currently use, different enough
to be annoying.

thanks.

Byron,

A version of JOVE for the PC does exist, here's the information on where
to get it using anonymous ftp:

At simtel20.arpa in the directory: PD1:<MSDOS.EDITOR>

Filename Description Size Date
===========  ============================================== ====== ======
J414DOC.ARC Doc for JOVE (Jonathan's Own Version of Emacs) 118665 891108
J414EXE.ARC JOVE, alternative version of Emacs text editor 141108 891108
J414SRC.ARC Source code in C for MSDOS JOVE text editor 351831 891108

Don't forget, if you use simtel20.arpa itself instead of one of the mirror
sites, you must issue the command "type tenex" instead of "type binary"
before beginning the download.

Hope this helps,
Dave
