[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Is the IRQ7 line really used?

leonard@qiclab.uucp (Leonard Erickson) (07/30/90)

Well, believe it or not, *printscreen* uses Int 7. I had a tape
backup card set from Int 7 and the only time anything went wrong was
when someone hit the PrtScr key by accident.

So I'd say it's safe to use if you won't be usoing the printer at
thed same time. Someone else said that both Int 7 and Int 5 are free.
Don't believe him. Using Int 5 on an XT system will crash the system.
XT's use Int 5 for the hard disk!
