Folks, Sorry about using network bandwidth for this; the questions file didn't have much on this topic. I just purchased a NEC PC (286) with many features (50 Mb hard disk, 5.25 and 3.5 inch floppy drives, VGA card, ...) and an HP LaserJetII. I'm interested in doing some desktop publishing (fancy newsletters, bulk mailings, technical reports, etc.) and I want to get the best price/performance ratio possible out of the software that I purchase. I've heard of MS Word, Word Perfect, and PageMaker, but I have no experience with any of them. Do you have any (dis)recommendations from this list? Are there others available that I've not heard of (but should have)? I'd appreciate any opinions/information that you might have. Please email responses directly to me as I will summarize them (and I do not regularly read this newsgroup). Thanks. -Wilson W. A.
