Well, now at least I know what changes Symantec is going to be making to the upgrade policies for Peter Norton's products. I just got the upgrade offer for version 5 of the Norton Utilities. Cost is $49, and apparently you have to choose between the 5 1/4 and 3 1/2 inch diskette. Compare this with the upgrade offer for version 4.5 before Peter Norton sold the company: Cost was $39, and you got *both* 5 1/4 and 3 1/2 inch diskettes. Hey, Symantec, what about those of us who as consultants tend to work on a variety of machines. I don't really feel like buying the program twice, just so I can use it on all PCs. (And no, I don't use it on more than one machine at a time.) At least they've given till December 31st to make the upgrade. That way I can look for reviews in the trade press and USENET and see how many bugs the product has before I spend the money. I'll be curious to see how the 'calibrate' option compares with other low level formatting programs. I'm also worried that Infoworld describes the program as having a 'more graphical' appearance, since some of the machines I have around here don't have anything more than the original monochrome graphics adapter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mike Nolan "To err is human, to forgive Tailored Software Services, Inc. is divine, to procrastinate is, Lincoln, Nebraska (402) 423-1490 um, can I get back to you on that?"
