[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Excessive shaking and my hard disk

     Could the excessive shaking caused by someone banging
something upstairs in the apartment building where I live be
causing problems with my hard disk. I have already once had to
re-format my hard disk since moving here. There are presently 32768
bad sectors on myt hard disk. Someone upstairs bangs something
every now and then that just shakes the daylights out the apartment
and I am wondering if this might not be causing the problems with
my hard disk.
