Hello! I have decided I would like to buy a ANSI C/C++ compiler and make this my programming tool of choice for awhile. I have been watching the net trying to soak up overall opinion of Turbo C++ and other C++ compilers. What I'd like to know is which one would you recommend if you have used both (I am considering both Turbo C++, and Zortech C++, but if there is another with merit out there let me know...)? If you have and use only one, let me know what strengths and weaknesses you see with it. Also if there is something that makes you totally not want to use one or the other (i.e. Turbo C++ doesn't support Windows programming). I am a student so unfortunately price becomes a factor. What are the educational discounts I can get? How do I go about getting these discounts and what will be the bottom line price? What is the update policy of the companies? Are there major bugs that I should know about in either before I make my choice? Will they be fixed or do I have to wait for a new version? Thanks for your help. Reply my email or the net, and I will summarize for everyone! Mike
