>We are having a problem in our building.. one of our staff decided to bring
>their Tandy DMP 130 dot matrix printer in to hook up to a Toshiba T1000
>laptop.. they bought a standard paralell cable at Radio Shack for $40 (?!)
>but it is not working. When there is no cable plugged into the printer it
>starts up and goes online fine, but with the cable plugged in it won't even
>go online.

Just a shot here: The T1000 has an option to set the printer port for
bidirectional operation. This screws around with the output drivers and
could have the effects you describe.

Use your SETUP10 program (in ROM) and make sure the option "Printer Port Bi-
directional" is set to "Disable". This should give you a normal printer
port.

If this isn't the problem I'm stuck, too.
