Here at the hospital we have a lot of VHF and UHF "walkman" sized EKG transmitters that patients walk around with. As a quick performance check for these units, I would like to add a circuit to a decent scanner such as the Regency MX5000 to use it as a tunable relative field strength meter. Such a tunable device would also come in handy tracking down sources of problem RF as we sometimes have. Any suggestions as to where in the scanner to tap a signal and what kind of simple circuit I can use would be appreciated. I was thinking of using an analog meter movement as a visual indicator. All I am interested in is relative carrier signal strength. Any help is greatly appreciated. Bobby L. N1ALG @ MGH
