This really isn't the best group for this subject but the 'software' is totally empty and I'm not sure who might know this information. I want to know what sort of Public Domain or cheaply available software educational software is presently 'out there'. I have ideas for creating educational software (generally in the form of quiz-type games in math, history, grammar etc.) for PCs and compatibles for elementary and middle school age children. I know that schools have to go through budget discussions and whatnot in order to acquire many copies of certain expensive educational software, so this area looks like one that could use PD works. I'd be happy to spend several hundred hours working on this if I knew that there were places that would happily accept free software and use it. Does anyone know either if things like this are already out there or if there is a need or what newsgroup might know? Thanks in advance, Clay Dresser (cdresser@eagle.wesleyan.edu)
