[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Repartitioning

mas35638@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu (Odin) (09/21/90)

I'm sure this has been hashed before, so forgive me for asking, but here's
the problem...I've got a 40MB hard disk partitioned into two 20MB sections.
I want to repartition it to something like 30/10. But! It wasn't
partitioned with fdisk, it was done with DiskManager. (i.e.--it requires
dm.sys upon booting) Can this be done without destroying the data present?
I started to do it with DiskManager, and got the impression it would wipe
out the contents of the first half of the second partition, because that's
the critical space I want moved. I'd appreciate any help you could give
me. If there's no way, how many 1.44MB disks would it take to BACKUP
32MB of hard disk? (23?! or does it compress?) Thank you very much.
Btw, feel free to email so this thing doesn't have to be rehashed.
