I have an application that requires remote users to be able to access my PC by modem and extract certain data files. I would also like to be able to receive faxes on this same line. Is it possible to use one of the combination FAX/Modem boards to perform both of these functions (with a single phone line)? Switching between fax and modem must be done automatically (by software and/or hardware) based on the type of incoming call. Thanks -- Anthony J. The Digitran Systems (relabeled Zoltrix Systems card) fax/modem includes Bit Software's BitFax/SR and BitCom software. Among the options in BitFax/SR is the ability to determine incoming fax or data and respond accordingly. Though I've not yet tried it (I use this line for voice mail more than fax/data), it looks promising as a solution. I don't have access to BitFax's or Digitran's phone/mail info now. Send me mail if you can't locate them on your own. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark Medici/SysProg3 * Rutgers University/CCIS * medici@elbereth.rutgers.edu ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
