I am having an interference problem with a microwave oven. Often I check in to
a CW net at 3590 Khz around six o'clock. Unfortunately for me this is right
around the time our microwave is in use. It almost completely wipes out my
receiver. At first I thought it might be interference from a lawn mower or
someone's electric tools or appliances. But I drew the correlation when I
heard the microwave's timer sound at the precise instant when the interference
stopped. Often, the interference cycles on and off which I believe corresponds
to the oven's operation at a lower cook-level setting.
My tranceiver and antenna are located approximately 100 feet from the oven. I
have all solid state equipment with a tuner and a long wire strung from the
house's chimney to a tree in the back yard. Does anyone have any suggestions
as to how I could eliminate or lessen the severity of this problem?
Thanks es 73,
