[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] How to use a .lib object library with turbo pascal?

kushmer@bnlux0.bnl.gov (christopher kushmerick) (09/29/90)

I have a software library from Data Translations, to drive one of their
frame grabber boards (2851).

The library comes in the form of a .lib file. And for pascal they suggest
that I compile my source, and then link against the library.

1) How can I use this in turbo pascal?
2) Does anyone have source (Or .TPU) available of software to drive the
2851 which they would like to sell/give away?

Can I use a library extractor to get the object files out of the .lib file,
and then instruct turbo pascal to link with the object files? If so, where
can I get such an extractor.

It should be obvious to the casual observer that I am pretty ignorant of the
use of library files in dos.

Thank you,
