We're having some rather strange problems with Lantastic 3.0 - network software. The setup we have is as follows : Lantastic 3.0, Ailanbios 1.10, WD8003 adapters (driver version 1.09) and Phoenix bios 3.07 in the server. Server is a rather old Kaypro 286 using MS-DOS 4.01. The problem we have is that certain operations, especially opening and closing files and locking files, take really long time (locking can take up to 1 second per operation). We are not quite sure which operations are the ones causing trouble, but the main application being run on the network uses file locking rather heavily and runs s l o w l y ... So far we haven't found any cure for this problem which is getting rather acute, as the usability of software in question is rather poor at the moment (quite a few parts of the application are almost unusable because of slowness -> press a key ... wait a couple of seconds ... see action taking place, and this in part of application that used to work instantly when we were still using Novell 2.0a :-( ).
