[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Soundblaster plays Amiga Files

sunyat@pawl.rpi.edu (Eric Hsiao) (10/02/90)

I just downloaded an interesting program the other day from the Channel 1
BBS in Cambrdige (617)354-3137 that allows you to play back Amiga
soundtracker files on the Soundblaster card. Soundtracker files are
like digitized music files (.VOC), but they take up much less space
for the amount of music that's played. A 90-110K file can play about
3 minutes of good music, with real sounding instruments..guitars, snares,
bassdrums, etc. I think the filename is something like TRAKBLAS.ZIP and
it was developed by a German author and it's free to copy. I tried it
out and and it plays pretty good music..not as good as if it came from
the Amiga, but it's still good. I guess, besides .ROL and .VOC files, we
can now collect Amiga Soundtracker files.
