Ok, we just got a deal on a 486 upgrade for one of our 386 machines. Here's the details Micronics 80486 @ 25 Mhz Motherboard: + SIMM 256 or 1meg x9 memory (16 sockets) + Phoenix 80486 ROM BIOS PLUS v0.10 F8 (aug 29,90) + 64k of 8k x 8 -25ns cache What I would like to hear is: - Anyone have one of these? - Any info on bugs/problems with the board? - Any info on bugs/problems with the BIOS? (note, version is 0.10) - What kind of software have you used on it? - Any software incompatibilities? (win3.0, telnet, NFS, etc..) - bus-boards problems? (512kVGA, 16bitWDether, IDE 120meg, 3.5, 5.25) If anyone has a 486 with a micronics motherboard, I would appreciate any and all info you could send to me (E-MAIL and I'll summarize) This is really a retroactive post since we already have the board and are just waiting on memory so we can turn the bastard on!!!!! /----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | Scott "gaspo" Gasparian - Teenage Mutant Ninja Technician | "back user!"| | Supercomputer Computations Research Institute |\ ,_ _/\ | | 400 SCL, F.S.U., Tallahassee, FL 32306-4052 |/ _/ '__ \| | gaspo@ds1.scri.fsu.edu | "I do NOT do lunch, I do NOT ||/ / ,," __o/| | gaspo@scri1.scri.fsu.edu | wear 'power ties', and I do | \_\|_\, / | | (904) 644-4277 / 222-5630 | NOT EVER do COBOL!
