I just picked up PC POP from nasa.trident.gov. I set up the popd on my sun 3/280 running SunOS 4.1. I have had NCSA telnet with packet drivers for a while and they work fine. The set up is a com 3c503 card with the memory jumper on CC000 packet driver version 4.2 the command for the driver is c:\ncsa\3c503 0x7e 3 0x300 1 I enter set configtel=c:\ncsa\config.tel when i run pcpop in the directory pcpop I comes up with the initial configuration screen. If I type with minimal delays I can get the information in but after entering yes to confirm the configuration it hangs. Also if I delay in entering the configuration data I get a hang immediately. I have taken everything out of my config.sys except for the ANSI.SYS, FILES, and BUFFERS lines. There is also a break=on. below is my config.tel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. # # Example host file for Telnet 2.2 # # "funny, this configuration file is readable ..." # # This file is free form # Separators are any char <33 and :;= # # The form is keyword=value for each parameter. # The first set of parameters refer to the whole program's defaults. # These parameter values can be in any order. # Following this are the individual machine specs. # If the first machine is name "default", then it contains default # values for the rest of the machines. # myip=192.42.141.101 name=pippin netmask=255.255.255.0 # subnetting mask hardware=packet # values are: 3c501,ni5210,pcnic,wd8003 # for ps/2: nicps2,3c523 tek=yes # enable tektronix graphics video=ega # type of video screen # Legal values for video are: # cga,ega,no9,hercules bios=no # don't use slow BIOS screen access # bios=yes to reduce flicker on cga # bios=yes for TopView or Windows interrupt=3 # hardware IRQ interrupt for 3C501 board address=0 ioaddr=7E # base address for I/O registers ftp=yes # do you want ftp enabled? rcp=yes # do you want rcp enabled? capfile=mycap # default name for capture file domain="sparta.com" # default domain for name lookups hpfile=hp.out # file to write HPGL to, # COM1 can be used for attached plotter psfile=ps.out # file to write postscript to tekfile=tek.out # file to write Tek codes to arptime=4 # arp timeout in seconds # affects machines on your local network #passfile="c:\ncsa\ftppass" # name of file to find FTP passwords in # # Following are individual machine specifications # Gateways are used in order that they appear in the file # Nameservers rotate, #1, #2, #3, #1, #2 when a request fails # # The machine named "default" contains the fields which are automatically # filled in for other hosts. name=default machine should appear first. # name = default # Session name, "default" is a reserved name # Not a real machine, default parameters only # # #gateway=1 # This machine is a gateway for me # scrollback=100 # number of lines of scrollback per session erase=delete # use delete code or backspace code for <- key? # legal values are "delete" and "backspace" vtwrap=yes # should VT100 be in wrap mode or not? nfcolor=green # normal, foreground nbcolor=black # normal, background rfcolor=black # reverse, foreground rbcolor=white # reverse, background ufcolor=blue # underline, foreground ubcolor=black # underline, background #crmap=4.3BSDCRNUL # map of the CR key for compatibility #duplex=half # modifier for non-echo mode, forces send clearsave=yes # save lines on clear screen yes/no # The following entries affect the tuning of TCP connections to this host. # They should be set by the network administrator who is familiar with # the requirements of your specific network. contime=20 # timeout in seconds to try connection retrans=7 # starting retransmit time out in ticks # 1/18ths of sec mtu=512 # maximum transmit unit in bytes # outgoing packet size, MAX=1024 maxseg=512 # largest segment we can receive # whatever the hardware can take, MAX=1536 rwin=512 # TCP window size, MAX=4096 # # Below this line, most of the communication parameters are obtained # from the "default" host entry. # Machine names, IP addresses, and special communication parameters are # present when needed. # name=durin ; hostip=192.42.141.7 ; nameserver=1 #name=mynameserver ; hostip=127.0.0.2 ; nameserver=1 -- Frank Halsema UUCP: durin!frankh SPARTA, Inc.
