I have seen a few notes here and there about Adlib and Soundblaster files. I have looked around and come up with the following... terminator.cc.umich.edu -- This site has a lot of REMAC sound files, which you can play on a regular PC. ccb.ucsf.edu -- This site has LOTS of stuff, including REMAC sounds, SoundBlaster files and other goodies for digitized stuff. My question is are there any places that have Adlib MUSIC type stuff. ( As opposed to just DIGITIZED files..) I have talked to several people on the net and they agree it would be nice to have a site that would support Music (.ROL for Adlib) files. One other question.. Does anyone know where I can get information on how the .VOC files for the Sound blaster board are stored (also info about how .SND/.SOU files for REMAC). I want to write a program to Play/Edit them on A Covox Voice Master. Also is there anyone else out there with a Covox Voice master? Havn't seen to much about it around here. It would seem to me perhaps this discussion belongs in comp.music, but I have look there and found no mention of Adlib and SoundBlaster (just Midi stuff...). Any comments are welcome. It seems there are a lot of people interested in this topic, and they are similiar to .GIF's (i.e popular things to show off your computer with!) May the digitized bit be with you.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ : 2 + 2 = 5 ... for sufficiently large values of 2 : : Spaggie a.k.a Jeff Sponaugle a.k.a JBS@en.ecn.purdue.edu : : CEE=EE with lots of toys JBS@amalthea.ecn.purdue.edu : :-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Forgive me for my stupidity, I just hopped into debug and noticed
the .SND files are just 8-bit binary sound files. In which case I
will write a quick driver to play them on a Covox Voice Master.
Anyone interested send email.......

I own a Gameblaster card, which is the little brother of the Soundblaster, and was wondering whether there is anyone with hardware info on driving the CMS sound chip directly. ie not having to use cmsdrv.com, etc. I would like to develop my own code to drive this card. -- #include <std_disclaimer.h> All opinions herein, are MINE. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeff Bird, Computer Systems Engineering Student, James Cook University EMAIL: AARNET/Internet eejjb@marlin.jcu.edu.au FidoNet Jeff Bird @ 3:640/710.40@fidonet.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
