indonesia, yb, yc, yd, has been added to the list of  countries
with temporary third party traffic agreements with the u.s. for
use during the 1984 summer olympics.  the agreements will be in
effect  between  july  1  and  august  31  1984, and will allow
messages to be exchanged between the olympic  cillage  and  the
athletes  home countries.  other countries with such agreements
are hong kong, vs6, and zimbabwe, z2.  ar

effective immediately, extra class amateurs are  authorized  to
use the frequencies 1269.05 to 1269.85 mhz for satellite uplink
purposes.  this uplink operation, called mode l, is part of the
allocations proposed in pr docket 85 23.  arrl asked the fcc to
allow mode l operation while docket 85 23 is being  considered,
and  fcc  has partially granted this request by allowing mode l
operation by extra class licensees.  league  staff  is  working
